I’ve had such a great day so far.
My daughter (Madelyn) had a clogging performance this morning and I wasn’t sure what kind of food/drinks were going to be served, so I thought ahead and brought a cooler with some water and low calorie snacks. I still can’t believe that I thought that far ahead “just in case.”
Afterwards, we decided to go grab something to eat, and found ourselves at Silver Spoon Cafe in the Edison Mall. They served all sorts of food from sandwiches and burgers to pasta and ribs. I chose to get a turkey burger because I had never had one and had been wanting to try them. I also ordered steamed vegetables and water to drink. First let me say that the service and environment were awesome. We will definitely be going there more often! The burger was really, really good. I was surprised at how much I liked it. I was always afraid it was so yucky, but couldn’t have been farther from the truth!
Since we were in the mall, we decided to walk around it and that’s what we did. I picked up this calorie counting book from Waldenbooks:
I thought that could come in handy.
Last night I walked 2.5 miles on the treadmill at the gym, and a funny thing happened after I was done. I noticed that I wasn’t as out of breathe as I had been when I walked half of that just a week ago. My face wasn’t as red. I didn’t feel like I was going to die. I actually felt like I could have kept on walking, and probably would have had the gym not closed at 8. It just gives me hope that this does get easier (the fitness part, at least) and maybe I will be able to run one day. A marathon, even. I just feel like anything is possible at this point…I’ve never been this committed before.
Well, we’re gonna head back out and enjoy more of this beautiful day, even though it’s about 90 degrees here! Hope you all are having a great day as well!
